This has been a tough year for families. Fortunately Family Earth's Nature Playshop has all the ingredients to help your children bounce back. According to the latest research, nature and play lead to healing and growth.

During Nature Playshops kids engage in unstructured outdoor play with open ended natural materials following the principles of "loose parts play". Kids have fun, build skills, and learn to love nature. Family Earth's founder, Rochelle, mentors grownups on how to facilitate nature play and get your family outdoors more. Each week our play and learning takes place in a new environment with different materials.

  • Cost: Recommended $15 per child for each session. Children under the age of 3 come along for free.

    • Pay What You Can: We believe everyone should enjoy nature, regardless of economic status. Pay what your family can afford, or more to help another family out. Click here.

  • Ages: Nature Playshops are ideal for kids aged 3 - 12 years old

  • When: Nature Playshops start at 10am every Wednesday and Saturday and run for 2 hours, but you are welcome to stay longer

  • Where: All our play spaces are located on the beautiful Family Earth homestead at 14081 Groves Road, Ingleside, Ontario, K0C 1M0, 60 minutes south of Ottawa, 90 minutes west of Montreal, 20 minutes west of Cornwall

  • Programming: Unstructured play in nature with loose parts, without a schedule, encourages creative fun while grown ups learn how to facilitate creative play

  • Food: We have a locally sourced picnic offering coming soon! In the meantime feel free to pack a lunch if you'd like to picnic on the Family Earth acreage after your Playshop.
